GSM and CDMA Cell Phones

There are currently two widely used technologies for handsets today.  As consumers, we want to know more about these things so that we can understand better how these phones work.  GSM and CDMA cell phones are two technologies used for cell phones today.  GSM stands for Groupe Special Mobile before but now it is known as Global System for Mobile Communication.  This is also known as the cellular technology since its coverage area is divided into cells that are hexagonally shaped with their own corresponding tower.  These towers serve all mobile phones in particular area.  CDMA, on the other hand, stands for Code Division Multiple Access.  This technology uses spread-spectrum technique in which an electromagnetic signal is transferred so that it is easier to create wider bandwidth.  Each device in coverage network has special codes and physical channel.

These two technologies have their own good and bad qualities.  When it comes to the quality of calls, GSM has some limitations.  There are possibilities of errors when dropping calls, voice distortion or echoes.  However, it is easier to be implemented into any existing technologies which are one thing that is difficult to find in a CDMA phone.  If you are no longer interested in your service provider, you can easily change provider if you have a GSM phone since they Unlocked Cell Phones.  That is why they are also called No Contact Cell Phones.  It is now easier to find almost any cell phone model that is unlocked and you can find them too at lower prices such as Cheap Verizon Phones.
