Phlebotomy Certification in Rhode Island

Phlebotomists are generally clinical laboratory technicians who are trained to collect samples of blood for the medical purpose using the micro-techniques and venipuncture. Phlebotomy technicians work in clinical laboratories, doctor’s office, health care departments or hospitals. The students should have completed high school education to get admission for phlebotomy certification. Accredited phlebotomy technician training program includes the 120 hour clinical experience and the 42 hours classroom training.

The phlebotomy course includes subjects like health care law, medical terminology, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, physiology and anatomy. The students are given training experience through the assignments at several training sites where the students are generally supervised by the experienced technicians. The hourly pay of the phlebotomy technician will range between $11.25-$12.15.
