Yeah, we know, you want to know all about how to do a reverse cell look up. Many people are familiar with the concept of reverse phone look up. The problem is that while a great many places make the claim that they will give you all this information for free, the reality is a little different.

Let’s start with what exactly reverse number look up is. It used to be, back when the concept of touch tone was a paid service that you couldn’t look up who was calling you. As a matter of fact, this was a source of much comedy on TV shows. The I Love Lucy show famously showed Lucy and Ethel making call after call to the Tropicana club in order to book every spot. It wouldn’t work today because they would be able to see that the number was the same each time.

Then came the concept of caller ID. The trouble was that when you get a caller ID number, you often will only see the number and no name. Got an obscene call? You can’t find out who it is, just the number. But with the new concept of reverse number look up you can punch the number into several Internet servers and boom, you can get an address and a phone number instantly.

The trouble however is that when someone calls from a cell phone and you need to do a reverse cell lookup, this information is not so easily accessible. You want to know who called you? You can’t find that information in the phone book, since cell numbers are usually not listed. But there are ways to find out the number in spite of that fact.
